Photobucket

Stop by our brand spankin new Facebook Page!!! Click The Pics! Yep, it's true, we are finally on Facebook. For those of you who still visit MySpace, we are still on MySpace too! www.myspace.com/wearemonsterent

Check us on your iPod... we are EVERYWHERE HAHAHAHAHA

It's been an interesting battle between the two social networking giants! MySpace started out so strong only to get the smack down laid upon them by Facebook. It happened fast too! I think it was all the extras that MySpace tried to add in an attempt to compete with Facebook. Things just went totally down hill for MySpace. I know for me it was the never ending buggyness of MySpace. My mail hasn't worked since Halloween!

Photobucket

And, what's with this Google Buzz? I'm not sure I want to be socially networked anymore?! By the time it's all said and done I'm going to have 35 different sites to log onto every morning to check mail. I'm hoping someone invents a site to tie them all together soon or it's going to get confusing.

Wow

Check out David Sills, a 13-year-old seventh-grader from Delaware who just accepted a scholarship to go to USC from Lane Kiffin. Yes, I did type 13. David was born ready. The kid has been coached by the best, Steve Clarkson — QB guru, tutorer of Big Ben Roethlisberger, Jimmy Clausen, Matt Leinart, Jake Locker, Matt Barkley and Terrell Pryor. If he were to eventually join the Trojans, he'd enter as a member of the class of 2015, five full seasons from now. In the meantime, he hopes to pass the seventh and eighth grades and begin studying for his driver's license, among more lurid pursuits.

For some strange reason I now feel as if I'm a loser... not sure why?

Slow Jam the News

This was pretty funny last night.

Grammys 2010

I was surprise to find out that this was Neil Young's first Grammy. I would have thought that he would have won one by now. Anyways, I'm really glad that Pink made it down safely... she had me a bit concerned for a while.

whew!

And, I guess I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this performance was my favorite... even tho I missed most of it... actually everyone missed most of it. Here's your chance to catch it all in its ghetto entirety!

And I'm gone pick da world up and Ima drop it on ya Head! **Dance Break**

That's really all I have on the Grammys. I mean, of course there was more! GaGa and Elton, Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks... great performances and I'm sure I could name more, but I'll skip most of it for the sake of space on muh page. I would, however, like to congratulate Phoenix for "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix". They, along with Kings of Leon, really deserved to win this year. For those who have still not heard of Phoenix go and catch up NOW. They are a really awesome band, and I believe they are from France. Trust me, you won't regret it. Two of my favorite songs this past year... "Lisztomania" and "1901" Speaking of 1901, you should see The Quelle Source cover it... it's amazing!

Could this really be considered a blog without me posting a pic of the brand new iPad?!

Ok, now moving on. This past Friday Spark Magazine held their 6th birthday party at Timothy's in Newark, and it was really ridiculously awesome. I was able to get in VIP off of the fame of Revolution, I Love You. The place was set up nice and to be honest didn't even resemble Timothy's to me. They had open bar from 8pm to 10pm. I arrived sometime around 9pm and by 10pm I was feeling pretty good. There were a couple of others that were also feeling pretty good... maybe a bit too good, but overall it was a good time. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics to share (I was drinking) but as soon as I see some on the web I will grab em and post em.

Spark also posted a signature drink on their website in celebration of their 6th birthday.

SPARK SIXTROEN RECIPE

2 oz. Ketel One Citroen

1 1/2 oz. Jeremiah Weed Lightning Lemonade

1/2 oz. melon liqueur

1/2 oz. jackfruit syrup

1/2 oz. lemonade

1 oz. Sprite

DIRECTIONS

Pour the Ketel, Jeremiah Weed and melon liqueur over ice and shake 'em up. Then add the jackfruit syrup and lemonade, again mixing vigorously. Add the Sprite as a top-off last, mixing gently, so you don't lose the fizziness. Strain and pour.

To make the jackfruit syrup, the ratio works like such: one cup fruit juice, two cups water, one cup sugar. Bring all three to a boil and cool.

Enjoy!

Monster

Speaking of Indie Monster, there's only one other monster that I wouldn't want to mess with...

Photobucket

NO NO NO... not party monster! Although Macaulay Culkin did kill someone in that movie that's not what, who I was talking about.

There we go! She looks so scared... I mean come on, did she really think that Sesame Street was just a kid's show?! Sesame Street is one of the realest things I've ever known SON!

Another victim...

There was only one who was brave enough...

Inspiration! Cookie Monster was my inspiration. There's the answer! That puts an end to the question that I keep getting asked the most lately. Why Indie-Monster? Actually, I'm not sure where or why I came up with Indie Monster. I guess it was just a pen name that stuck. I would invite you all into my head in an attempt to find out why I do things the way I do, but I'm 100 percent sure that it would just confuse most of you. It confuses the hell out of me.

Fortunately, what doesn't confuse me is music. I know a good collaboration when I see one.

Renee Thomas is teaming up with Young Yonny for her first EVER project. The EP is set to release late this spring. I can't wait to hear the finished product. For those that don't know who Renee is she is Monster Entertainment's soulful, R&B artist from Ohio. We are VERY proud to have her on board. She has a beautiful voice and if you don't believe me go HERE. As for Yonny...

Young Yonny
Photobucket

Young Yonny, Ohio, Grammy nominated, supa producer. You may know him most recently from the hit "Say Aah" by Trey Songz, but honestly he's been doing his thing for a while now. Yonny's worked with a great deal of artists including, Birdman, Hell Rell, Mya, Lil Mo, Tum Tum, 2 Pistols, Jim Jones, Rihanna (Terminator) Trina (who can be heard on Young Yonny's production tags saying "ooh yonny"), Lil Wayne (The Carter II) and Ray Cash. I think I remember seeing this dude on B.E.T.'s 106&Park. He was a guest judge for Freestyle Friday. Yonny's reputation has been growing steadily, especially with the success of "Say Aah".

Match made in heaven! Keep checking back for more information and a possible release date.
