Keep it Safe!

Photobucket

To everyone that helped to support Indie this year a huge thank you! There are a lot of good bands, labels and artists out there that fly under the radar all year long. I'm sure that they all, we all appreciate the love shown to us throughout the year. Big ups to those that searched for and recognized good music instead of just enjoying the music that was spoon fed to them by the industry. Real recognize real!

Could it be?

I smell another one! I don't know, but, I have this feeling. I can kinda see a third match up on the horizon. Could it be? We will know late Sunday evening after the Colts, Titans game. If the Colts win then the Browns are in! The only question is, how long will Tony play his starters?

"The Damaged One" front man seemed really excited the other day when he called me. Things for the upcoming album are finally falling into place.

The band has been building a quiet following around northeast Ohio and the anticipation for "...From Here...", the band's first full length LP is building as well. I asked Chris about the name of the album, ("...From Here..."), what it meant and why there were dots leading from each end. Chris told me that the title represents the sound of the album, which if described would tell the story of not only where the band is from and how they have gotten to where they are today, but where the band is headed and their plans for the future. (I thought it was creative.)

The Damaged One, AKA TDO, will be working with Tempest Christopher a 25 year old producer/engineer from Akron, OH. and co-founder of The Pop Machine studio located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Christopher also sings for the bands Gallery and Prism Theory.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what these guys put together. I'm already a huge fan of "Please" one of the songs on the album.

I GOTTA POCKET FULL A STONES

One of the very first rap albums I've ever heard was by UGK. I remember listening to "Super Tight..." in my peeps basement ... seems like yesterday. I GOTTA POCKET FULL A STONES That had to be one of the very first albums I've ever owned as well. The sound! The sound that they had was one of the very few at that time that help to inspire me to write rap myself. Pimp C and UGK helped to define the 90's, which I believe till this day will stay the greatest decade Rap/Hip-Hop will ever see. Mad love to Pimp C. Gone but never forgotten.

Memorial Tribute

In an earlier post I mentioned the tragic and sudden death of guitarist Casey Calvert of Hawthorne Heights. For those of you that want to get involved in something to make Casey proud here's your chance!

Four Turnovers?!

It was a turnover Sunday! First A J Feeley (why is he still in the NFL) then my man D A. Ahhhh!

Not the dreaded pick six?! A pic six on opening drive! I almost teared up. Good thing I had beer. Back to A J ... shouldn't A J be sitting somewhere with Tim Couch talking about the good ole' days when people actually believed in them. I don't care if that was mean. What an ass! That dude A J Feeley needs to think 'broadcasting'. Hell, if I was the NFL I would be checking in to see if A J and Lofa Tatupu had a thing going on because there is just NO WAY that .. well okay I guess it is A J Feeley.

Anywho,

I am going to view this as a game for growth for the Brownies. It's Monday and we are still sitting in the wildcard, so all is not lost (yet). The Titans still have a rough road ahead of them and so does the Jaguars. Hey, if we win out we could take the division. The bastards, oh I mean the steelers have a rough schedule ahead of them too. Hey, a fan can dream can't he?

If we lose to the Jets I may have to be hospitalized. Okay, so here we go Jets, Browns as worried as I am I will still attempt to pick this one.

Browns vs Jets ... Browns win by 20. Absolutely not cool!

Stop laughing at me!
