Legacy Recording Company to Shut Down Legacy Streetz
PHILADELPHIA, PA, APRIL 10, 2009 – Legacy
Recording Company plans to shut down its urban imprint, Legacy Streetz, due to a recent joint venture with Black Ink Records of Newport News, Virginia.
Legacy Streetz was introduced to the public in February 2008, as an urban sub label for Legacy Recording Company, also known as LRC. Over the past year, Legacy Streetz has caused quite a stir on the popular social networking site, MySpace.com, racking up more than 100,000 plays and 50,000 profile views.
Streetz’s Hip Hop star, i.e., is set to sign a deal with Black Ink by the end of April 2009. As part of the new business venture, LRC will work in conjunction with Black Ink to continue to promote and market i.e. “This is an exciting time for all of us,” stated Isaac Gordon, CEO of Legacy Recording Company LLC. Look for new music from i.e. in 2009 via Black Ink Records. Black Ink Records is distributed exclusively through Bungalo Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
