Red Bull Flugtag - Philadelphia 2010
Check out this awesome video of my boy Justyn Myers and his team The Giant Flying Lama's. They took FIRST PLACE at this year's Red Bull Flugtag - Philadelphia 2010. Congrats Justyn!
So much to say and so... much time to say it
Well, I think it's pretty much obvious that I've been on a bit of a hiatus lately. This has probably been the busiest summer on record for the indie-monster. It literally consisted of me moving, starting a new job, working on a website, moving, promoting bands, hitting up shows, attending conferences, moving, not having internet or cable for a week, learning how to become a photographer, getting ready for school (which I'm still not ready for) and moving.
The biggest thing for me was the move. I hate moving. It requires lifting shit which I don't particularly like to do. Not to mention that it was also hot as balls out every damn day this Summer! I mean seriously, if there's someone out there that still doesn't believe that we're experiencing global warming, then they need to be smacked and smacked hard. This summer was so ridiculously hot that there were a couple of occasions where I didn't even feel like drinking. Now that's a heat that, as I mentioned earlier, can only be described as balls.
In addition to my busyness and the balls like heat, I've had a new schedule to deal with. (yeah I'm whining... click away or deal with it) My new schedule consists of me waking up at 5:20am daily. Other than the many nights that I've stayed up that late playing video games or out drinking I had no idea the world existed that early... at least not sober. It has definitely taken sometime getting used to, but I think I'm there. Anyway, it's good to be back at the controls, especially this time of year. I love this time of the year. I love Fall. All the new TV shows, football, Halloween, football, the NFL, the weather (especially after the ballsy summer), apple cider :), lower electric bill, football... etc. This is definitely my favorite time of the year. I mean, I like wearing shorts and all but you can really dress for the Fall ya know? I remember the days of laying out my brand new school clothes getting ready to head back to school. Man, those were the days. I think at one point back then the Browns were actually good too. Hmm, actually, that was way before I had back to school clothes. That was back when I had a back to school fro and I still really, really, really wanted that red Michael Jackson Jacket. Eh, I guess those were the days too. Didn't have to wake up at 5am.
Don't Hate
I was a rocker back then too, don't get it twisted! Well, I will end it here, and leave this as just an update reminding you all that I'm here... and back and I didn't really leave, was just busy, but now am not as busy but still kinda busy, and I'm here, and back. And, I still have a way with words.

Sugarhouse Casino
Casino Fever...
I've never really thought about what it would be like to have a casino this close to my house. However, I will say that now that Sugarhouse is open Fishtown and the surrounding areas seem to be really hopping. I was able to get in as a VIP last Monday the 20th due to the fact that I knew someone that helped petition its opening. I was impressed. They weren't handing out free candy like I was hoping, but it was still fun. It looked small from the outside, but once inside seemed decent, and the machines were pretty nice compared to Atlantic City's. Each slot had a mini TV in it. So, while I was betting the pennies that I brought with me, I could also keep an eye on Monday Night Football. I could definitely see how some people would never want to leave. For the VIP test run, we got the hook up on free food which consisted of mini burgers, crab cakes, sesame chicken tenders, french fries and desserts. I gave the food a thumbs up, but I was also starving when I went. For those that haven't been yet, I would wait for a weekday. The place is now ridiculously flooded with folks. I'm sure you won't even be able to move around in it if you go on a weekend. Plus, you may have to wait a while for a machine.
To those that are a bit upset about its opening, I do completely understand your view point. I just look at it this way. If a person has a gambling issue they are probably going to lose money betting on something whether it's a casino or a card game at their buddy's house. Yes, it doesn't help having a casino so close, point taken, but what the hell ever happened to self control?! Should we begin setting up our society totally based on the fact that some people just can't say no? It's kinda like the people that sued McDonald's for making them fat isn't it? Anyways, those are just my thoughts. As for me, I'm more worried about money leaving my wallet because of the Chick-Fil-A that's a couple of streets over. And, who knows maybe in about 3 years I can file a suit on Chick-Fil-A for making me chubby. Why blame yourself when you can blame someone else right? Ok, now that I've pissed a bunch of people off, here are some links and video of the Sugar!

Clear the Runway...
How many times have you been stuck at the airport? Eh, unfortunately it happens, and there's little you can do but be patient and wait. The brand spankin' new Monster Entertainment webbysite is on its way! We're still working out a couple of kinks and clearing the runway. Please, be patient?
I will say this though, when it does finally hit the web it's going to look and feel a little something like this...
