Keep it Safe!

Photobucket

To everyone that helped to support Indie this year a huge thank you! There are a lot of good bands, labels and artists out there that fly under the radar all year long. I'm sure that they all, we all appreciate the love shown to us throughout the year. Big ups to those that searched for and recognized good music instead of just enjoying the music that was spoon fed to them by the industry. Real recognize real!

Could it be?

I smell another one! I don't know, but, I have this feeling. I can kinda see a third match up on the horizon. Could it be? We will know late Sunday evening after the Colts, Titans game. If the Colts win then the Browns are in! The only question is, how long will Tony play his starters?

Inspiration

I see Chris has found his inspiration ...

"The Damaged One" front man seemed really excited the other day when he called me. Things for the upcoming album are finally falling into place.

The band has been building a quiet following around northeast Ohio and the anticipation for "...From Here...", the band's first full length LP is building as well. I asked Chris about the name of the album, ("...From Here..."), what it meant and why there were dots leading from each end. Chris told me that the title represents the sound of the album, which if described would tell the story of not only where the band is from and how they have gotten to where they are today, but where the band is headed and their plans for the future. (I thought it was creative.)

The Damaged One, AKA TDO, will be working with Tempest Christopher a 25 year old producer/engineer from Akron, OH. and co-founder of The Pop Machine studio located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Christopher also sings for the bands Gallery and Prism Theory.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what these guys put together. I'm already a huge fan of "Please" one of the songs on the album.

I GOTTA POCKET FULL A STONES

One of the very first rap albums I've ever heard was by UGK. I remember listening to "Super Tight..." in my peeps basement ... seems like yesterday. I GOTTA POCKET FULL A STONES That had to be one of the very first albums I've ever owned as well. The sound! The sound that they had was one of the very few at that time that help to inspire me to write rap myself. Pimp C and UGK helped to define the 90's, which I believe till this day will stay the greatest decade Rap/Hip-Hop will ever see. Mad love to Pimp C. Gone but never forgotten.

Memorial Tribute

In an earlier post I mentioned the tragic and sudden death of guitarist Casey Calvert of Hawthorne Heights. For those of you that want to get involved in something to make Casey proud here's your chance!

Four Turnovers?!

It was a turnover Sunday! First A J Feeley (why is he still in the NFL) then my man D A. Ahhhh!

Not the dreaded pick six?! A pic six on opening drive! I almost teared up. Good thing I had beer. Back to A J ... shouldn't A J be sitting somewhere with Tim Couch talking about the good ole' days when people actually believed in them. I don't care if that was mean. What an ass! That dude A J Feeley needs to think 'broadcasting'. Hell, if I was the NFL I would be checking in to see if A J and Lofa Tatupu had a thing going on because there is just NO WAY that .. well okay I guess it is A J Feeley.

Anywho,

I am going to view this as a game for growth for the Brownies. It's Monday and we are still sitting in the wildcard, so all is not lost (yet). The Titans still have a rough road ahead of them and so does the Jaguars. Hey, if we win out we could take the division. The bastards, oh I mean the steelers have a rough schedule ahead of them too. Hey, a fan can dream can't he?

If we lose to the Jets I may have to be hospitalized. Okay, so here we go Jets, Browns as worried as I am I will still attempt to pick this one.

Browns vs Jets ... Browns win by 20. Absolutely not cool!

Stop laughing at me!

RIP Casey Calvert

Wow, I have been really busy this week. So busy that I didn't even realize that Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last Friday. WTF

The cause of death is still unknown. Talk about a blow to the chest! Hawthorne Heights is one of my favorite bands, and for those of you who don't know, Casey (guitarist) was a big part of that awesome sound.

I have always had a special place in my heart for H H being that they are out of Dayton. I hate to hear things like this and I really can't wait to be updated on the what's and why's. For now, I will just say RIP Casey Calvert. H H keep your heads raised. God has a plan for Casey. Much love and respect! I-M

Just for laughs ...

One of my favorite comedians ... wish I could have seen him live.

What dey Hell???

Well, I guess I know a little something about football. I predicted tha last three games and got them all right. Too bad I have no idea how the rest of the season is going to go. We will just have to wait and see. I know one thing though. RESIGN D A!!
As far as I'm concerned the guy has proved his value. Let's do it! Browns playoffs?

Thursday, November 8, 2007

Dear Thursday:

The weekend is almost here and it’s getting closer and closer to that Browns, Steelers game. Can’t Wait! Well, maybe I can. I am a little nervous. Odds are against us, and well … you know what? I’m just going to leave it as that. I don't want to turn this into a Steelers bashing.

Okay, so I was incredibly bored today and surfing the web. I was clicking on stuff and running around MySpace checking things out, posting bulletins, and I ran into the most amazing band. These guys are the real deal and I BET that we are going to be seeing them all over the universe very soon. The name of this incredible band is “Last Year Portrait.” I was floored that these guys weren’t signed. Then, I looked deeper into their page only to find out that these guys were the band that won that American Idol Underground Contest. I can see why! For the prize they were brought out to LA to perform and to meet the suits. I’m imagining it’s only a matter of time before these guys get picked up. When you get time check em out! LYP

They have a pretty cool MySpace page with some videos. One video being of their trip to LA, one video of them in the studio and another of them performing on Good Day ATL Fox. Good stuff. I’m impressed.

Latah,

The Real Deal?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If there ever was a time for a NFL player to really prove himself it is right now in Cleveland for Derek Anderson. Over the next three weeks the Cleveland Browns have a very challenging schedule. This three game stretch will determine if the Browns really are getting better, or if we have the same old disappointing Browns we've always had.

Even though it's up to the whole team to bring their best, most of the heat falls on one person and that person is #3. Let's see what this Oregon State product can do against a defense that has pressured quarterbacks better than most teams in the NFL this year. The Seahawks defense is ranked 4th in sacks with 23. With that kind of pressure coming at the Browns down after down this will really be a test not only for Derek, but also for the newly accomplished offensive line.

So, why am I being hard on Derek. He is the number two quarterback in the league right now for touchdowns! Shouldn't we just be happy with that? I say no! So, many times I have gotten my hopes up. Let me see something definitive! For right now, I'm the fan cautiously peeking my head out from behind the bushes hoping I can soon run out and start talking some real shit!

My prediction?

Browns take two out of the next three games (okay maybe I'm out from behind the bush on this one)

Seahawks (W)
Steelers (L)
Ravens (W)

Let's Go!

Whatevah...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yeah, so ... I know that this is kinda old (like two weeks) but I have been really busy lately. With that being said, I had to write about this madness. Supposedly MM is mad at MCR.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

According to MM, MCR stole his style and he is truly upset about it. On his new album entitled, "Eat Me, Drink Me" he attacks MCR as bluntly as saying the words "fuck you, fuck you" in a song called "'Mutilation Is The Most Sincere Form Of Flattery." Other lyrics in that song include "Hey, there's no rules today/You steal instead of borrow/You take all the shapes that I make/ And you think that you thought/All the thoughts that I thought/Don't you?"

In an interview MM stated "I'm embarrassed to be me because these people are doing a really sad, pitiful, shallow version of what I've done. If they want to identify with me then here's a razor blade. Call me when you're done and we'll talk."

Here's a razor blade. Call me when you're done and we'll talk? What is that supposed to mean? Go try to kill yourself and then you can be cool like me? Give me a break. I'm sorry but there isn't even the slightest connection between MCR and MM in my eyes. I mean for starters I actually like MCR.

Whatevah!

MM has always kept some sort of beef alive with some artist. Can you spell insecure? Sorry MM but I'm not feeling it. I always knew Canton people were a little off but come on. Okay, I'm just kidding I like Canton and "Heart Shaped Glasses" has a nice beat to it but not enough to justify this accusation. Besides didn't MM steal a little bit of style himself? Has anyone ever heard of Alice Cooper? What about Queen?

Bloody Good Time!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Glastonbury music festival has kicked off! The festival is like England's version of Woodstock, and man I wish I could be there with a pint right now. It's going to be a muddy, rockin, bloody, jolly good time. Artists scheduled to rock the stage include: The Killers, The Who, Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Bjork, Bright Eyes and Arcade Fire.

The Big Kiss is also a scheduled event at the festival. They are hoping to break The Guinness World Record for the biggest amount of people kissing at one time. Did I mention that I would love to be there with a pint?

yep yep

Man I know I have said this before but the Shiny Toy Guns Rock hard right now.

Nirvana Bio

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Has anyone read it yet? It's the newest one written by Everett True. True True was one of the very first journalist to write about the “Seattle Grunge Scene,” and he also knew Kurt personally, but I heard that the book was really opinionated. Although, I guess it would be. Supposedly, True also took credit for introducing Love to Cobain. Hmm, I'm not sure why anyone would want to take credit for that. Anyway, if anyone has read it leave some comments on what you thought about it.

I'm Comin Home!

Okay, so it's official. I'm coming home for a little while. I have an overwhelming desire to watch a Cav's game in Akron. Oh yeah, and see my family. I love you guys!!

I was thinking about waiting until next weekend when it'll be game five and probably a little more tense, but I might spend all my money on beer by then. Expect me there Friday evening around 8pm! I will be leaving Monday around 2pm.

Also, I heard CBS may be bringing Jericho back playaz!!! I'm so happy I could eat a live Tree Frog!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Dammit, I did it again. My bad ... I don't know how a picture of a crazy man eating a LIVE tree frog got in there, hold on, that was the wrong picture.

Here we go!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

CBS is in talks to bring back the show with a seven-episode mid-season order. I hope they do. However, they did say that it's not final, and it still may not happen. My question is, how you just gone leave me hangin in suspense for the rest of my life CBS? It's like CBS only has one eye open to the public!

Completely Pissed!

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell everyone! Our effing X Box 360 is broken. Yup, the one that cost $600. It just stopped working. We supposedly got the red rings of death. It's when the X Box's rings that normally light up green turn red and the machine quits working.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is bullshit. Microsoft sucks so bad. What a waste of a so-called "company." What a rip off! I hate you Bill Gates!!! I WILL FIND YOU! This is ridiculous and right before Madden 2008. This is how people end up locked up. I'm bout to do an Akon! It's going to be around $140 dollars to get it fixed. Mike is really pissed. I'm getting an etch a sketch.

Sleepy

I just heard that Akon is getting criminal charges brought up against him for throwing that kid off stage. I hope he doesn't get locked up. Then he will really feel lonely. Well, atleast he'll have a cell mate who will probably be really excited to see him.

I guess The Game also was charged yesterday for making a criminal threat and possessing a firearm in a school zone. This incident supposedly stemmed from a basketball game. These dudes crack me up man. Can someone please answer me this; if the whole world is a stage how come most these people don't know how to act?

In other news, I'm really, really sleepy. Yes, I'm whining. I know, it's not good to whine! I have been getting up at 4am to do the WDEL video news. It's fun though. Lee St. John the guy that is tutoring me is great. I'm brushing up on my editing skills. Wanna check out the video? Why, sure you do! Here it is!

Oops, wrong video. Here it is....

Monday, June 4, 2007

What the HELL?

Akon done lost his damn mind! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO THROW A KID OFF STAGE? supposedly, the kid threw a ball at Akon's face so he told his bouncer to go and get the kid, then he threw the kid off stage. The result, the kid got his head busted up real bad. Now, word has it, the kid's parents are suing for an ungodly amount of money, and so they should.

This is officially the dumbest shit I have ever seen an artist do. What a retard! I guess when you have a whole bunch of screaming underage teenagers pumping your ego up you lose all sense of reality, or at least Akon does.

Boring Monday

Well, I guess it's not too boring. I should be excited. LRC launched legacyrc.com, so go check it out. I think it's awesome. Let me know what you think. Send me an email. Oh, and join the email list!

Another thing I should be excited about, THE CAVS!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I am stoked beyond belief. Lebron was amazing! What a game that was and finally not a close barn burner. We whooped they asss! Sorry Detroit, better luck next year. Oh wait, that's right we will probably whoop that ass next year too! (he he he) I'm loving it! Oh yeah, and where are all the Cavs haters? I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Hmm, wierd. I may be home to watch a game or two. I wanted to drive home Saturday just to kick it in Cleveland, then I realized that I had to be to work today. Which brings me back to my title. What a boring Monday.

In the world of music, Shiny Toy Guns's new music is the shiznit. If you haven't heard it go and grab the CD. I'm hoping to see them live sometime soon!

Paris Bennett's album "Princess P" has been out for three weeks now. It hit number one on the billboard heatseekers chart in its first week. I think it has since fell to twenty three. I like Paris. Hopefully, her album picks up steam. I thought she should have went a little further her year on American Idol. I wonder how Jordan Sparks is going to do. I'm def glad she won. If Blake had of won I was going to cut off my ears. We don't need anymore B'boxin. I'm cool with just havin Doug E.

Anyway, legacyrc.com, check it out, and join the email list! I have a couple articles posted in the news section, and there will be more to come so keep checking back.
